The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Alumni Association, Mile High Alumni Chapter (MHAC), is developing a gem and mineral mini-camp / class for kids ages 8-12.

This 3 Hour event will feature presentations, hands-on activities, and educational games which will answer questions like:

  • What is gemology?
  • Where do you find gemstones?
  • What makes gemstones different and how can you tell them apart?
  • What kind of tools does a gemologist use?
  • Why are ethics important?
  • What careers are there in the field of gemology?

And more!

Led by industry expert volunteers, this event is sure to delight the youngest of rock-hounds.

Parent/guardian attendance required.
