Living History Day @ KPOF Westminster Castle
Apr 27 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Living History Day @ KPOF Westminster Castle

Experience 18th century life through costumed interpreters, hands-on activities, and military demonstrations. Aspects of 18th century life will be available for you to experience – agriculture, blacksmith, education, games, gunsmith, military, and much more.

18th Century Military Demonstrations – 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Both Continental and British troops will demonstrate 18th century military maneuvers. Though similar, you will learn the differences between the two opposing forces. This will be introduced by a rousing fife and drum march and concluded with a booming artillery demonstration.

Surgical Operation – 1:00 p.m.
Stop at the surgeons’ tent as the skilled workers deal with mishaps from muskets in the camp. This is not for the faint of heart or weak-stomached. Surgery is considered necessary to save a life but is extremely painful and risky without the use of anesthetic.

Drama – 4 times per day
Come see The Price of Liberty, the story of John Chilton, who died at the Battle of Brandywine in 1777. See the moving story reenacted in the Westminster Castle theatre. There is no additional cost for the drama, however you do need to reserve a time at the registration table, as the performances fill up quickly.
